Estonian Plywood AS (ESTPLY) is a new and modern European birch plywood factory where high-quality raw materials, modern production, and a sustainable approach all work together. Located in Viruvere, near Jõgeva, the production complex features automated production lines and excellent infrastructure. The location is favorable both for sourcing raw materials and for allowing people in the surrounding area to work close to home. ESTPLY employs nearly 200 people and adds value to local birch wood. ESTPLY’s birch plywood is used mainly in the construction, transport, and furniture sectors, and it is exported to more than 36 countries around the world.
Why ESTPLY?
Verified origin
ESTPLY’s plywood has a verified and controlled origin. All of our plywood is produced in Estonia at the Viruvere factory, with only high-quality northern birch used as the raw material in production. Most of the birch logs we purchase come from Estonia; however, we also source certified wood from neighboring countries. We cooperate with both the State Forest Management Centre (RMK) and private forest owners. ESTPLY holds both FSC and PEFC chain-of-custody certificates, ensuring that the wood used is sourced from responsibly managed and controlled origins.
Quality birch plywood
At ESTPLY, quality is the result of every stage of the production process, not just the inspection of the final product. We comply with the requirements of the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems, as well as the EN 13986 standard. By employing state-of-the-art camera sorting at various points in production, we can detect potential issues early on and respond quickly. This approach ensures resource-efficient production and the consistency of properties across each plywood batch. ESTPLY’s on-time delivery rate consistently reaches 98%, which indicates that shipments are very likely to arrive on time. Every ESTPLY plywood sheet begins with carefully selected birch raw material. We process this unique tree species into high-quality birch plywood in our modern factory and ensure timely delivery to customers worldwide. The birch plywood produced at the ESTPLY factory is marketed primarily to Europe’s largest industrial customers and distributors. ESTPLY plywood is used to make light trailers, trailers for heavy goods vehicles, formwork for concrete work, furniture, packaging, and more.
ESTPLY is growing
ESTPLY is continuing with its targeted expansion, investing in the development of the factory and increased production capacity. Factory expansion, which began at the start of the year 2026, will increase production capacity to 85,000 cubic metres and grow the company's turnover and production volume by approximately 50% over the next four years. This investment supports ESTPLY’s long-term development, bolstering the company’s competitiveness and solidifying its position as a modern birch plywood producer.
